Study Abroad Requirements:
Like CIMBA, Virginia Tech requires that all students have at least a 2.5 GPA to be eligible to study abroad. All other requirements default to the CIMBA application requirements.
The Application Process:
- Students interested in studying abroad should first meet with their academic advisor to determine their course of study with the CIMBA curriculum. Coursework for upcoming CIMBA sessions can be found here.
- Students should also advise the VT Global Education Office (GEO) that they desire to pursue a semester of study abroad at CIMBA. The GEO will provide students with further guidance on study abroad requirements and deadlines.
- Students should complete the CIMBA Study Abroad application and should observe all CIMBA deadlines.
Due to the program length, US and EU citizens are not required to obtain a visa to study abroad with CIMBA. VT international students with other citizenship will need to obtain an Italian study visa for any CIMBA programs.
Course Equivalencies & Transcripts:
CIMBA coursework transfers to VT as pass/fail and is not calculated into the student’s overall GPA. VT has pre-determined course equivalencies for many CIMBA courses. Click here for more details (coming soon).
Transcripts will be available for request online at the conclusion of the program. For questions regarding transcripts and transfer coursework, please contact Justin Monday (see below).
