We accept applications for the Part-time MBA program on a continuous basis for fall semester admission. While most students begin the program in the fall, you can start at almost any point in the program. There is no application deadline but we do encourage you to apply as early as possible.

The following steps describe the admission process.

  1. Complete an official University of Iowa application. This application requires the submission of the following items:

Complete the online application. Choose Create An Account on the right hand side. Once you enter the portal, you will complete the my profile section.  In the Enrollment Information section at the bottom, select either Full-time (1-year) or Part-time (2-year) for the admission type. (Campus Life Coordinator applicants should select Part-time.)

    Application fee

Prior to final submission of the online application, you will pay a non-refundable application fee to the University of Iowa. The application fee is US$60 for US citizens and US$100 for non-US citizens. This fee must be paid by Visa, MasterCard, or Discover.

    Transcripts

For admission review, you may submit unofficial copies of your academic transcripts and degree certificate within the online application. We will be able to make an admission decision based on this information. If you are admitted, you will be required to submit your official transcripts by the end of the first semester you are enrolled. Please read the details below regarding the requirements for official transcript submission.

    U.S. or Canadian transcripts
Academic records from U.S. or Canadian schools must be received in a sealed envelope directly from the issuing institution. Credentials submitted for admission become the property of the university and are not returnable or transferable. Please mail the transcripts to the Office of Admssions, 107 Calvin Hall, Iowa City, IA 52242.

If your institution has the capability of sending official transcripts electronically, the institution can send them directly to adm-transcript@uiowa.edu.

Transcripts or marks sheets from non-U.S. or non-Canadian schools
Academic records from non-U.S. or Canadian schools must bear the original stamp or seal of the school and signature of a school officer (e.g., registrar or dean) and be sent to the CIMBA office in either Italy or the US.

Italy: CIMBA, Via San Giacomo 4
31017, Paderno del Grappa (TV) Italy
    US: CIMBA Italy
108 PBB Ste C300, Iowa City, IA 52242

Transcripts must include the subjects you studied by year, grades, marks, or percentages earned in year-end examinations, and proof that a degree was conferred. If no degree conferral is noted on the transcripts or marks sheets, you also need to send your official diploma. Your academic records will be returned to you after review.

Documents not in English must be accompanied by official English translations certified by the issuing institution. Translations without this certification will not be considered official.

    Resume

Your resume is uploaded as part of the online application. It should describe items you believe would be of particular interest to the Admission Committee. Suggested items include employment summary (job titles, detailed position responsibilities, company names, employment dates with months/years), education including graduation dates (month/year), and extracurricular and/or community activities.

    A GMAT or GRE score

If you have not yet taken one of these exams, please complete all other admission steps for the program. For part-time students, we can grant a conditional admission and will allow you to complete the GMAT or GRE during your first semester of the program.

We accept either the Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT) or Graduate Record Examination (GRE) for admission, and no matter which test you take, you must have an official score report sent to CIMBA. Test scores are valid for up to five years after the test date.

GMAT: When you complete the exam, you need to send an official score report to us by selecting the University of Iowa CIMBA MBA program during the exam. If you have already completed the exam, request to have a score report sent to the CIMBA program by following the instructions at MBA.com.

GRE: Start at the ETS-GRE Score Reporting website and request that a score report be sent to us. The University of Iowa institution code is 6681 and the CIMBA department code is 4201 (Business Administration and Management).
