Italy in the Spring
CIMBA is accepting applications for the Spring 2025 Semester!
We understand it’s important for you to make an informed decision about where you study overseas and what program you select. At any stage of your admissions process, we encourage you to email cimba-italy@uiowa.edu or call or text our U.S. office at 319-335-0920. Our staff and alumni office workers are available Monday through Friday to answer questions about applying to study abroad. We can walk you through course offerings, tuition, room and board, financial aid, scholarships, and more. Or, if you’re ready to apply, go ahead and get started!
Application Date and Process
Our suggested application date is October 15; however, applications will be considered after this date if space is available. Please review our CIMBA and Your University page to see any special procedures required by your home university before applying to CIMBA.
Spring 2025 Program Dates
Spring 2025 will be 12 weeks long and less than 90 days so that U.S. passport holders need not apply for a visa. Dates are Monday, January 20 – Friday, April 11. View our Spring 2025 Program Calendar.
- Student arrival on campus: Students will arrive on a Monday and be picked up at the Venice Marco Polo airport by CIMBA bus. Staff will be available to meet them at the airport.
- Student check out: Check out is on the last Friday of the program after students have finished their final exams. Do not book flights prior to 5pm on the final day of the program.

Cost
The price for the program includes tuition, room and board, dining services, laundry, a twice-weekly cleaning service, and more. Airfare and personal travel are separate, but we’ll give you advice on how to find the best fare. Learn more about our program cost, financial aid, payment plans, and scholarships below.
Awards and Scholarships
CIMBA offers several scholarships and awards in addition to your current financial aid. These include need- and merit-based scholarships, social media and blogging ambassadors, and the opportunity to be a Resident Assistant on our campus. The CIMBA financial award and scholarship deadline for spring is November 1. You can apply for CIMBA financial awards even if you have not finished your application to the program or been accepted.
