Explore Italy's Rich Tapestry of Cultural Adventures

CIMBA Italy recognizes the best way for students to immerse themselves in Italian culture is for them to experience it for themselves. This is why we offer both on-campus and off-campus opportunities for students to explore Italy’s customs, food, history and art. There are countless opportunities to learn about daily life in one of the world’s most iconic countries.

Gateway to Europe
Pieve del
Grappa

Located in northern Italy’s Veneto region at the base of Mount Grappa, Pieve del Grappa offers the perfect location for CIMBA students. With a population of just over 2,000, this picturesque community provides small-town hospitality in one of Italy’s most prominent business regions. It also serves as the perfect gateway to explore the rest of Italy and Europe.

During the week, students enjoy the close-knit community and the authenticity of living in this idyllic Italian town. On any given day, you can expect to eat dinner with a local family, volunteer in the community, walk through the vineyards surrounding campus, hike Mount Grappa in the Italian Alps, and more. Pieve del Grappa’s small size and inviting atmosphere truly create one-of-a-kind bonds that bring CIMBA students and the community closer together.

Independent Exploration

CIMBA Italy builds time off into the curriculum to allow students to explore everything Italy and the rest of Europe have to offer. Students are encouraged to make travel plans after a comprehensive travel orientation from our staff. While planning independent travel can be daunting in a new country, students learn new skills and discover their inner strengths when things don't always go according to plan! Getting on the wrong train or missing the bus are all part of the adventure. Plus, CIMBA staff are always on call to provide support when needed.

As a CIMBA Italy student, you’ll have the unique opportunity to partake in many cultural immersion activities.

Visit the Palladian Villas

Visit the world-famous Palladian Villas designed by renowned architect Andrea Palladio over 450 years ago. Many of these villas still stand – and they are within an hour of campus.

Travel to Possagno

Travel to the nearby village of Possagno where you can see world-famous sculptor Antonio Canova’s tomb and a museum that features his birthplace and works of art.

Ceramics in Nove

Nove is one of the ceramics capitals of Italy. Nove’s small factories are known for producing goods for Lenox, Williams-Sonoma, Vietri, and more.

Local Prosecco Hills

The local Prosecco hills were added to the UNESCO World Heritage List and celebrated as an exemplary “Cultural Landscape".

Explore the Italian Countryside

Explore the neighboring countryside with faculty and students. Pick olives on the Asolo Hills, walk to the nearby town of Crespano to explore the open market, or take a bus ride to Bassano del Grappa where Ernest Hemingway began writing his epic novel A Farewell to Arms. Students also enjoy biking through the vineyards surrounding campus.

Explore Treviso’s Market

Famous for its ramparts and medieval moats, Treviso hosts an exciting antiques market on the fourth Sunday of each month. It is also the birthplace of tiramisu and is located just 45 minutes from campus.

Shopping

Italy is the ultimate shopping destination, and you’ll have ample time to explore boutiques, shopping centers, galleries, and more. CIMBA Italy students often visit United Colors of Benetton, Northwave, and Luxottica, while Diesel and Geox are located near campus.
