To be eligible, you must have a cumulative GPA of 3.30 or higher. 

To be eligible, you must receive some form of financial aid (i.e. Stafford loan, Pell grant, etc.) to attend your home institution.

Thanks to the generosity of CIMBA Italy’s alumni, faculty, and extended community, we are able to offer substantial study abroad scholarships to a select number of applicants.

These scholarships will be automatically applied to the student’s tuition owed upon admission to the program and may be combined with any other CIMBA Italy financial award. Total combined award amount may not exceed CIMBA Italy’s total tuition cost. Students must commit to enroll in CIMBA Italy during the semester indicated on their initial application to receive the scholarship. CIMBA Italy scholarship recipients will be asked to provide a short testimonial and photo upon successful completion of their semester abroad. This award is open to any student who has overcome significant adversity in their life.

To qualify for this scholarship:

• Submit a complete CIMBA Italy application for a semester-long study abroad session (transcript exempt) by the preferred application deadline
• Submit the scholarship application form with applicable questions completed by the preferred application deadline
• Meet CIMBA Italy’s admission requirements
• Be in good academic standing with home institution

CIMBA Italy seeks students with strong leadership experience to serve as a resource for their fellow students and to support our full-time staff. The primary function of a Campus Assistant is to promote and maintain a positive living environment that is conducive to academic achievement and personal growth, and is respectful of its residents. CAs act as peer advisors, role models and administrators, while they help students settle into a new environment and culture. A 3.0 GPA is required for this position. Share your study abroad journey with family, friends and prospective students by applying to be a CIMBA Italy blog ambassador. Blog ambassadors document their CIMBA Italy experience by posting a blog entry approximately once a week on the official CIMBA Italy blog and contributing to the end-of-semester student yearbook. Showcase your favorite pictures, memories, and lessons learned along the way!

Add social media strategy skills to your resume and receive a scholarship as the Social Media Ambassador! CIMBA Italy Social Media students will share their experiences with family, friends, and prospective students through Instagram grid posts, stories and reels.

CIMBA Italy seeks creative and motivated students to document their experiences abroad. Students will create videos that capture and describe the CIMBA experience, Italian culture, and more. Videos will be posted on YouTube. This scholarship award is not available for the summer session.

How to apply:

• Send an email to cimba-italy@uiowa.edu to notify us about your legacy status no later than 30 days after program acceptance to ensure we are able to apply the award to your bill. We will verify prior program attendance of siblings. 
• The email must also contain a short testimonial from your sibling about their CIMBA Italy experience. Include your siblings’ name and CIMBA term.
• After the program, we’ll ask you to send a testimonial about your experience with CIMBA Italy and 3-4 photos that we may use in our marketing materials (including but not limited to posters, brochures, website and marketing emails).
