Trains?

Travelling from campus to other places via trains there are a few tips for those of you who have never been to Europe!

- Train apps: I would suggest downloading and making an account on are Trenitalia, Italo Treno, ÖBB and Trainline

- Tips: when booking your trains, I would suggest leaving from Bassano Train Station which is the closest to campus, and for those of you trying to save money, the taxi to Bassano is cheaper than the taxi to Castelfranco Veneto Train Station!

- Trenitalia are more for regional trains which are slower trains, but in the app when you are looking at the trains, some train options will say ‘Frecciarossa’ - these are the fast trains within the app. Another thing about Trenitalia, you can change the time of your trains for free up until departure!! The only caveat is you cannot change the train station you are going to.

- Italo trains are the fast trains!! They are really good if you are travelling further within Italy!

- Now for ÖBB, this is specifically if you are going to German speaking countries. They do travel into Italy but only specific stations. Now if you wanted to book from the nearest train station to campus Bassano, all the way to Germany, I would use the app Trainline to book the trip. I say this because Trainline is able to book all the proper trains amongst all the train companies to get you where you need to go! However, you cannot get a refund or change the trains so book with caution!

Flights?

When it comes to catching a flight, you are able to fly out of Venice Airport (VCE) or Treviso Airport (TSF)! I would use the website SkyScanner to look at flights to book for going to other places! The flights here are very affordable!

Busses?

I would download the app FlixBus!

- The buses are really not all that bad to take. You can take both overnight buses and day buses to get anywhere in Europe! And the biggest plus is that they are supercheap to take!

eSIM?

I would suggest purchasing the eSIM through the app Airalo!

- Downloading the eSIM and the installation was super easy & many kids here used it! I got the Eurolink eSIM with 50GB and it lasts for 90 days! It costs $100 USD, and the best part is if you run out, you can purchase more GBs through the app and add them onto your current eSIM!
