Now that CIMBA has come to an end, I am left with reflections on my overall experience. Undoubtedly there were ups and downs. But overall, I would do the whole experience again in a heartbeat. I learned so much. So much about travel, so much about life, so much about what a successful career looks like, and so much about the world. I want everyone to know what to expect before they get into this program however, it was not always easy, except nothing good usually is.

Schooling was incredible because the professors were so intentional and close with us, however, it could also be really hard to balance travelling and getting back to Paderno at say 3am and then having to write a paper. However, I take more personal responsibility for making those mistakes, rather than blaming it on the program, I would still say that anyone can expect such experiences like this to happen. Since being back, I heavily miss being in Italy and being able to see my friends every day. So, expect the culture shift of coming home to be hard. However, I personally think that just highlights all the more how awesome the whole experience was.

The next thing that is important to remember is that sometimes transportation is almost guaranteed to go wrong. There were weekends where train strikes got in the way of certain plans or trips, we had, so it is important to expect that. However, regardless of all the hard things and crazy things that happened, overall, CIMBA was an incredible experience, and I miss it every day.

Thanks for reading all of these blogs!

Stay strong,

Logan Carne
