Nice, France
Suffice to say, this weekend has been the craziest weekend yet abroad. Personally, it feels as though each weekend seems to top the last in terms of adventure. The weeks are a great time to slow down and relax and focus on schoolwork, and then the second Friday rolls around, it is go-time.
For example, last Friday I had no clue what to expect from visiting Nice, France. I just booked the tickets and hoped for the best. This trip may have been the wildest yet. We land and instantly Nice feels like Malibu, California, but with a French filter turned on. The weather was incredible, and the beaches were specifically unique because they were not made of sand, but limestone rocks that made an incredible sound when the tide receded into the water. As well, Nice had a castle and an incredible waterfall hike that took all of our breath away. Somehow in the night, me and a friend got lost in the city and had to find our way back to our hostel. Through the power of teamwork and friendship, we found our way back, but I will say, if you have the chance to get lost in a foreign country, do it because it was awesome.
The most memorable thing about Nice was the colorful boats and the amount of fishermen that were around the town. Nice was an extremely active port that was full of life and color.
If I learned anything from this weekend, I would say that travel is good for the soul, specifically when it is Nice
