An Update
Now that it has been a couple more weeks since my last blog, I want to write about all of the memories I have made so far. After being here for a while it really has set in that I am in a different country, and with that, has come a huge amount of learning experiences that have taught me a lot about life. It may sound cliche, but I really have learned a lot through my travels so far.
For example, this past weekend I went to Rijeka Croatia with five other guys. Rijeka is a coastal town with lots of history involving World War 2. The weather may have been poor while we were there, but the upside of studying abroad in the fall is that I feel like I get to see these countries and places in their natural element. Other than the weather, Croatia was full of learning experiences and amazing seafood. The six of us decided we wanted to go on a caving tour, so we drove to a house that had found an old German and Italian bombing shelter. We repelled down the hole and were treated with a movie and more repelling into the caves. Eventually, at the end of the tour, our guides served us Croatian wine in a cave. After that we walked around Rijeka and went to a boat show, it truly was an incredible experience.
Overall, my experience at CIMBA has continued to be incredible. Undoubtedly there have been some hard-learned lessons, but every mistake and or lesson is a good one if I am growing in the end.
