A Trip to the Coast!

Week Seven: March 8, 2019
Last weekend was an extended weekend, and I went to so many beautiful places. Because of this, I’m dedicating this entire post to those places.
Ten of us stayed in an Airbnb in Sorrento, which is about an hour and half taxi ride from the Naples airport. This is a great, central location to stay. Our Airbnb had an amazing view, and it wasn’t difficult to get around. Just buses and taxi rides!
One morning, I went outside and started walking to the left. After about ten minutes, I ended up at a beach area with coffee shops, pizzerias, and the most amazing views I’ve ever seen in my life. Oh, and that coffee shop had the best espresso I’ve ever had in my life. Long story short, stay in Sorrento.
Capri is an island that’s about a 30 minute ferry ride from Sorrento. There is lots to do there. Many restaurants, bars, cafes, etc. While we were there, they were celebrating Carnevale!
The Amalfi Coast was amazing. The beach was beautiful, and there were so many other sites to see as well. Plenty of shopping-really anything you can imagine.
Going to Positano was a last minute decision for us. We met some Americans on the bus who were staying Positano, so we decided to get off the bus early and get dinner with them in Positano! I wish we had more time to explore before it got dark, but what I saw of it was unreal.
On our last day, we went to Pompeii. Pompeii was a very interesting place-I’m a history major, so I appreciated it a lot. It was awesome to see a place that I have been hearing stories about my whole life. Unreal.
Unfortunately, although we flew into Naples, we never explored the area. Despite that, I would highly recommend traveling to the Naples area-it is underrated in my opinion. There are so many incredible sights to see within in an hour of each other. This is my favorite place, by far, that I’ve traveled to.
Until next time! Ciao!
