So many places in so little time..

Last week I finally got to try gelato! It was even better than what I was expecting. We took a Bassano By Night trip to visit the town of Bassano del Grappa that’s about 30 minutes away. It was a rainy and cloudy day but that’s what helped us to find the gelato places we stopped at. After taking pictures in front of the beautiful mountains we headed off in search of somewhere warm and dry. Lucky for us bars and gelato shops stayed open through the bad weather! We stopped in the first one we found and each ordered gelato and were hoping we could find a bathroom there as well… we found the gelato but none of us can seem to handle a hole in the ground being considered a bathroom so we passed on the bathroom. We walked down back streets in Bassano until we found a second place that was open which happened to be a bar that sold gelato. How convenient! So we bought gelato to share this time, two glasses of wine, and checked out the bathroom. Once again it was a hole and we decided we might as well just wait to go back to campus because there’s no way we’ll findĀ  a “real” bathroom. We walked all over Bassano that night and even though we were soaked by the end of the night we could all agree it was a great trip.

The next day was Friday which meant we had our first travel weekend ahead of us! We took a bus to Treviso and got on a very delayed plane to Paris. We stayed in a cute little bed and breakfast outside of Paris in the French countryside. I would recommend this bed and breakfast to anyone! The owner who picked us up late Friday, made us breakfast Saturday, and drove us to train station was so helpful and taught us little bits of French to help us out in Paris. Saturday was the longest day of sightseeing EVER. We walked a total of 8 miles around Paris and saw everything there was to see: Notre Dame, the lock bridge, the Louvre, the Eiffel Tower, the Arc de Triumph, and everything in between since we walked to everything! It was so amazing to visit Paris but I think we could all agree that if you plan on going, don’t visit everything in a day.

This week we have little trips and another concert for our music class planned and on Thursday we leave for Greece! Safe to say every single one of us on the Greece trip is looking forward to escaping the cold and laying on a beach all weekend! Ciao Evan
