It's Like a Dream

Hello from America!

I have been home for two weeks now and I have been trying to think of something to write for my final post. Nothing has really come to mind yet and I think that is due to the fact that I am having trouble admitting to myself that this semester is officially over. This past three months seem like a dream, almost unreal, and returning home brought me back to reality.

I have loved getting to see my family and getting ready for Christmas. My house is all decorated and festive! I also visited Furman and saw a lot of my college friends, along with visiting with people from high school. I definitely still miss my “CIMBA Family” though. Trust me, there are a lot of various reunion plans in the work. I’m sure that we will all keep in touch; its just weird going from seeing them everyday to now being across the country from them.

I feel that this semester abroad was more impacting on my life than most other programs. Not only did I get to visit nine different countries, I also got to meet some of the world’s greatest people. It also taught me a lot of important life lessons. I now know the importance of taking things slow and enjoying life. I feel that before I was so focused on my future that I didn’t bother to have as much fun as I could have. I want to focus on people and relationships more than work and getting ahead. I think that this is what I really took away from living in Italy and the people I spent my time with.

That’s about all I have to say. But if you ever think about studying abroad, do it! It will be the best decision of your life!
