CIMBA: The Best Choice

Written by Raleigh Woods May 17, 2018

For so many years I had been looking forward to studying abroad in college. I love to travel and want to see anywhere and everywhere so I knew choosing a study abroad program might be difficult, but much to my surprise when I first heard about CIMBA I knew that was the one I needed to attend.

There are many reasons why I felt so good about this program. Initially, I was drawn in by the sweet nature of the professor that leads the trip from the University of Arkansas where I attend college. (If you come make sure to take the Global Consumer with Molly Rapert, you won’t regret it) She said that she had been teaching in the summers here for almost 20 years; clearly, there was something special about this place. The more and more I looked into the program the more and more I liked it.

CIMBA is specifically a business college. While they offer a variety of interesting classes they focus mainly on business. I knew the credits I gained here would transfer back easily as it is accredited by the University of Iowa. Furthermore, each course offered sounded very interesting. Narrowing down what I wanted to take was difficult in and of itself.

With my academic reason to go secured I began to look and see if the program would be a good fit in other aspects; indeed it was! As I mentioned, I have a severe case of the travel bug. Thankful, CIMBA knows just how to cure it. Each weekend (typically Thursday starting at noon till late Sunday) you are free to travel to wherever and as far as your credit card and any transportation will take you! The options are endless! In fact, it’s hard to decide how to allocate your time because you can feasibly go anywhere in Europe during your long travel weekends. The travel weekends are a big selling point.

Thirdly, CIMBA is located in the Northern region of Italy, in a small town called Paderno Del Grappa. The laid-back, non-tourist vibe allows you to get to know the locals and the Italian way of life without being saturated with typical tourist things and English speakers. To make things even better the campus is settled at the base of the Dolomite Mountains. Each way you look is a stunning view; you won’t be disappointed. I have only been at CIMBA for 3 days, yet it is already starting to feel like home! While that was only a short list of reason you should attend the CIMBA study abroad program I am sure by the end of my experience here I will be able to write a book on why any student should study abroad at this quaint little college.

Ciao!
