Ready? Set? Go!

Finally. After a ridiculously busy semester, it’s almost time to go. It’s finally happening. Even as I type the words, it’s still hard to believe that I’ll finally be getting on a plane and going to Italy tomorrow. I absolutely could not be more excited! And if you’re reading this, I’m thinking that you’re excited with me!

So I guess I should introduce myself. I’m a proud Hawkeye at University of Iowa who just finished her freshman year. I’m a chemical engineering major and, even though it’s hard, I’m absolutely loving it so far! I am absolutely out of my mind with excitement about studying abroad because ever since I left the country for the first time, I could not wait to do it again! I love learning about different cultures and being able to immerse myself in them makes it about a million times more exciting.

I got home yesterday afternoon, and after getting attacked with kisses from our dogs, it’s been go-go-go trying to unpack from school, get everything at least semi-organized, and figure out exactly what I’m bringing to Italy (last minute, I know, but finals have been a little bit more important to think about recently.)

As of now, I’m finished with packing, avoiding the mountain that consists of the rest of the things I brought home from school, and enjoying my few hours at home with my family and my puppies. They (both the puppies and the family) have been hanging around me all day already, because they know that I’m not here for very long. While, they may think that the next month is going to be a long one, I know for me, it’s going to fly by.

I’ll definitely be keeping you all updated with pictures and stories, so stay tuned!

Ciao for now,

Megan
