I've been missing out..

End of day two and I finally succeeded on getting the internet working on my laptop!!

So yes, I did make it here on Monday! Here’s a recap of the trip. Sunday we made it to JFK thanks to Jenna’s wonderful mom, Beth, and we all got out of the US before the bad weather hit JFK (lots of others coming here got delayed). I then flew to London which was a 7 hour flight and the longest I’ve ever been on a plane. They served a fantastic supper and breakfast with drinks in between. The down fall of this flight was the fact that I can’t sleep on planes no matter how hard I try. So.. I get to London the next morning completely exhausted (it was the next morning there.. I think it was the middle of the night in the US) and made my way through security again and got to the main terminal. Honestly, I have no idea how I did any of this without getting lost because I was pretty tired and it’s a big airport. But once my flight gate went up 20 MINUTES BEFORE I LEFT, I made it on the flight and was served another amazing breakfast (SCORE! If you fly out of the country use British Airways if you can, they were amazing). Once I got on this flight I went from being completely energized to hitting my all time low of being tired. As we were landing in Venice, no matter how hard I tried to stay awake, my eyes just kept closing. I wasn’t too happy about this because I can’t just experience flying into Venice for the first time ever again and I was falling asleep! Then after waiting to get on a bus to campus, I started falling asleep again! Not exactly how I pictured my first few hours in Italy! Thankfully I got a little sleep last night and today wasn’t nearly as bad.

Just about to head into JFK to catch our flights!

We started classes today and I couldn’t be more excited for them. Kylie, Jenna, and I all have 8am Western Music class and stay in the same room and have Statics together. We happened to fall on the day that our first class is repeated in the afternoon for 3 hours… Can’t say any of us were thrilled but our professor is awesome and made it a lot better than it could have been. Half way through the class she brought us to a café just down the road and bought all of us either a pastry or coffee! It was amazing and a great pick me up for the rest of the day. We ended the day with a trip to the mall a couple towns over and although we hoped to find sweatshirts( because it’s so cold) and didn’t find any, we still all walked away with a couple new things.

Our beautiful campus in Paderno del Grappa.

Even though it’s only been a few days in Italy, I absolutely love it! I really have been missing out by never traveling here before. Yes, I do miss my family and friends, but I know I’ll always miss this place once I leave.

Buonanotte!
