Company Tours

Written by Ellen March 8, 2013

Ciao! This week I toured Ideal Work, an Italian company specializing in concrete finishing. As a leader in “decorative concrete,” Ideal Work has designed for homes, restaurants, clubs, theme parks, and hotels around the world. I’ll admit it, when I discovered my assigned company I was not exactly thrilled to look at cement. However when we arrived to their office I was pleasantly surprised. We were greeted by Matteo, a 2006 CIMBA MBA alum, who introduced us to the company and its many products and services. I felt like part of an HGTV show as Matteo took us through Ideal Work’s product lines. Different molds, acid treatments, and finishes transformed ordinary cement into a work of art.

I was surprised to find out that the company doesn’t even produce cement. Instead, they focus on designing treatments and molds and then training independent contractors and architects on how to use their products. An on-site training facility is used to promote products to over 100 new clients each year.

As a CIMBA alum, Matteo credited the program for his career at Ideal Work. He met an employee through the program and has been with the company since his graduation in 2006. The leadership, team building, and professional skills he developed, along with improving his English, are all key reasons why he has been successful in his position. He praised CIMBA for helping him will his skill set and was excited for all of us to have the same success he had.
