Extra, Extra read all about it

Ciao,

For me one of the biggest reasons for picking this study abroad program over the hundreds of others, besides its location, was the fact that it had several extra programs that were structured to facilitate extra experiences that would not be available in other programs. These programs are LIFE, LEAP, and CAP.

LIFE (Leadership Initiatives For Excellence) was an experience that everyone should go through, but due to the nature of the program, this is all I can say about it.

LEAP (Learn, Enrich, Achieve, Perform) is a one-on-one semester long coaching opportunity. Within this program you are pared up with a coach who helps you realize strengths, weaknesses, self doubting, and other important aspects of your life that you may not have known existed. I know it was an eye opening experience for me and has helped shape the way I will move forward in my life as I go home to the states and continue with my education and future job opportunities. LEAP, as they will tell you, is not a therapy session where you talk about your problems and how to solve them. It is more of self realization, where you want to go in your life and the different paths you can take to get there. To me this was the most rewarding part of the study abroad experience offered by CIMBA (obviously traveling was the best part) and if I could afford to have a coach while back in the states it would be something to consider. This is also not something that is unique to CIMBA in the working world. Most high level CEO’s all have coaches to help them realize where they are at and where they would like to go.

The final program that is offered by CIMBA is CAP  (CIMBA advantage program). This consists of activities organized by the school to help you get a better feel for the culture that you are in and help break the ice with those around you. First off, we had a low ropes course which helped with team building and getting to know those who will be studying with you for the next three months. We also had three gourme dinners at three different very prestigious restaurants. Nothing says your in Italy like some amazing food.

These for me were the driving force behind apply for this program and also some of the best times I had during the program as well. I would highly recommend this program not only based on location, but also these three very well structured extra programs.

Ciao
