Federal Aid and Scholarships
Most students will be able to use financial aid and scholarships for study abroad programs. Federal law allows government money such as grants and loans to be used for study abroad purposes. The process at each university differs slightly so it is important for students to begin the process early and learn the requirements of their home institutions.
Study abroad students must apply for financial aid through their home institutions. Check with universities to determine the procedure for applying for aid for study abroad programs. The Consortium office works with universities to help arrange the process and we can provide a budget of estimated costs if they require one. They will usually accept the budget that is provided to you in the expenses section of the website. Students must notify the Consortium office if they will be receiving financial aid; this is particularly important if you wish to delay payments until your financial aid is received.
CIMBA Financial Awards
A $300 discount is available for enrollment in more than one credit session. (Sessions I, II, and III.)
The Consortium has a substantial number of both merit- and need-based financial awards available for students attending the summer program. Award packages range from $100-$500 for the summer graduate program. Award amounts vary from year to year based on the number of applications received and funding available. Financial award applications are due on April 1 for the summer program. Only students who have applied and been accepted to the program will be considered.
